Refund policy

At Lynn Joseph Books/Black Mermaid Press, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), we want you to be fully satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason you're not happy with your order, please review our Returns and Refunds Policy below. This policy outlines how you can return items and request a refund.

1. Return Eligibility
You may return some items within 30 days of the purchase date for a full refund or exchange, subject to the following conditions:

The item must be unused, undamaged, and in its original packaging.
The item must be returned with all original tags, labels, and accessories (if applicable).
The item must not be a non-returnable product (e.g., final sale items, personalized or custom products, perishable goods).

Non-Returnable Items:

Gift cards
Downloadable software or digital products
Personalized or customized items
Perishable items (e.g., food, flowers)
Items marked as "Final Sale" or "Non-Returnable"

2. Return Process
To initiate a return, please follow these steps:

Contact our customer support team at lynn@lynnjosephbooks.com with your order number and reason for the return.

We will provide you with a return authorization and instructions on how to return the item.
Please pack the item securely in its original packaging (if possible) to ensure it is returned in good condition.

Ship the item to the return address provided by our customer support team. You are responsible for the cost of return shipping unless the return is due to a mistake on our part (e.g., incorrect or damaged items).

Important: We recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance for returns, as we cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

3. Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you via email about the status of your refund. If your return is approved, your refund will be processed and issued to the original payment method. Partial Refunds:

Returns for exchanges are handled as standard returns, and any additional costs for the new item (including shipping) will be your responsibility.

5. Damaged or Incorrect Items

Your order number
Photos of the damaged or incorrect item
A description of the issue


We will review the issue and offer a replacement, repair, or full refund, depending on the circumstances. We will also cover the return shipping costs for damaged or incorrect items.

6. Shipping Costs
Unless your return is due to an error on our part, you will be responsible for the return shipping costs. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

If you receive a refund, the original shipping fees will not be included in the refund, unless the return is due to a mistake made by us (e.g., wrong or damaged items).

7. Late or Missing Refunds
If you haven’t received your refund yet, please:

Check your bank account or payment provider again.
Contact your credit card company or bank, as it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
